Position Type: Exempt

Job Description:

• Expert in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRRP, and related networking protocols.
• Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN, routing, switching, and enterprise network architecture.
• Experience with Cisco routers, switches, terminal servers, and Active Directory environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, and DoD/DHA communication networks.
• Proficient in network troubleshooting using OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and diagnostic tools.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Windows, UNIX, and OpenVMS environments.
• Deep understanding of IEEE networking standards and network security best practices.
• Proven experience managing large-scale routed, switched, and long-haul WAN infrastructures.

Qualifications:

• Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8570.01 “Information Assurance Training, Certification, and Workforce Management” is required. Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level III or equivalent certification, per DoD 8570.01-M, "Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program" (most recent version) is required.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, technical degree or related discipline, and five years of directly related experience; or successful completion of a certified Technical or Vocational School and 10 years of directly related experience gained through progressively higher levels of complexity.

OTHER SKILLS:

• Experience with DoD Health Care Information Systems is required. Experience and skills shall include a range of assignments in technical tasks directly related to the proposed area of responsibility. Expertise in Windows networks, Cisco Systems, and Orion SolarWinds. Experience with Zero Trust Architectures and Methodologies is desired; Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are required.

Preferred:

• Experience deploying servers or embedded systems and sub-components
• Ability to analyze system performance and identify risks
• Experience deploying and supporting virtual network infrastructures including VDI and Server Virtualization
• Experience creating and maintaining System Design documentation such as network architecture diagrams, IP schemas, and standard operating procedures.
• Proficiency with Windows or Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of IP networking and VPN solutions
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to work autonomously under pressure, while effectively coordinating within a mid-sized team.
