Coordinator III, Community Outreach

Purpose and Scope The Coordinator III, Community Outreach provides oversight and facilitation of day-to-day and some long-term operations in the outreach department for community outreach and non-traditional students. This position plays a strong role in leading and planning development, success, evaluation and improvement in this area. It also coordinates logistics, services and support surrounding significant/diverse programs in the community and supervises staff. The role makes and communicates process decisions based on best practices and provides regular updates to the supervisor. Frequent evening and weekend hours are required. Essential Job Functions Attend college fairs, community job fairs, and business functions, and build relationships with businesses, community organizations, and external partners to seek opportunities to recruit and provide college information to community members and non‑traditional prospective students. Act as the representative for the campus for outreach events and activities requested or invited by the System Office, and participate in campus recruitment and registration events. Supervise part‑time and/or full‑time staff within the department directly and indirectly, and lead special projects as needed. Assist the supervisor with developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies, communications and events for campus recruitment and outreach, including student tracking, email and text communications, call campaigns, etc.; analyze results and make recommendations for revisions to objectives and strategies. Enter, track and maintain a variety of data, including documents, spreadsheets, and databases, and provide activity reports regarding all outreach, internships, meetings, and activities to the supervisor. Coordinate standing internship programs to accompany outreach efforts. Monitor and purchase resources such as promo items, equipment, and marketing materials needed within the department; submit requisitions and review and approve/deny purchase requests in accordance with the budget; assist the supervisor with management of the department budget. Work with College Relations to create and share templates and marketing collateral, and maintain outreach department website pages to ensure they are updated with the most recent information. Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong attention to accuracy and detail. Excellent knowledge of general office and software applications. Ability to prepare and analyze reports. Possesses excellent organizational skills. Strong multi‑tasking abilities with the ability to prioritize duties. High level of customer service. Physical Abilities The work is sedentary, with the employee sitting comfortably to perform work, and can also require long periods of standing and lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds. May also involve walking, standing, bending, carrying items such as papers, books, or small parts, or driving an automobile. No additional special physical demands are required to perform the work. Work Schedule & Conditions Equipment used includes a PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment. Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position. Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual (English/Spanish).
