American Surveying is an established Florida land surveying and mapping company serving commercial and residential clients throughout the state. Our projects include boundary, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, topographic, and construction surveys, with most of our work concentrated in Central Florida.

We are seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead a professional field crew who takes pride in producing accurate work, communicates effectively with clients and office staff, and enjoys leading a field crew. Responsibilities

• Lead a field survey crew while maintaining a safe and productive work environment
• Coordinate daily field activities with the office as needed
• Ensure field work is completed accurately, efficiently, and safely
• Perform commercial and residential boundary surveys
• Complete ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
• Perform topographic surveys
• Perform limited construction staking and layout
• Perform elevation certificate surveys
• Understand plats, deeds, metes and bounds descriptions, and section breakdowns
• Communicate effectively with office staff regarding project progress
• Collect complete, accurate, and organized electronic field data for office processing
• Maintain company vehicles and surveying equipment in safe, reliable working condition

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or equivalent field leadership experience
• Experience operating GNSS receivers, total stations, automatic or digital levels, and electronic data collectors
• Ability to read plats, deeds, and legal descriptions
• Working knowledge of boundary surveying principles and field procedures
• Valid Florida driver’s license with an insurable driving record
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to work overtime when needed
• Ability to travel for occasional overnight projects throughout Florida

Preferred

• Experience with ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
• Experience with commercial surveying projects
• Construction staking experience
• NSPS Certified Survey Technician (CST) certification is a plus
• Candidates who are not currently certified but are interested in pursuing CST certification are encouraged to apply

Physical Requirements

• Work outdoors in Florida weather conditions
• Walk uneven terrain throughout the workday
• Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Stand, bend, kneel, and climb as required to perform field surveying duties
