Research Assistant Position

The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time Research Assistant to join the Wilson Motor Lab. The lab conducts innovative research focused on developing quantitative methods to better understand motor development in individuals with neurodevelopment disorders. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in clinical research, psychology, neuroscience, child development, and mental health research. Key responsibilities include:

• Recruit, screen, and consent research participants
• Conduct study visits, including questionnaires and structured diagnostic interviews
• Coordinate research appointments and participant communications, both in person and remotely
• Enter, clean, manage, and analyze research data
• Maintain research databases and study records
• Assist with IRB submissions, regulatory documentation, and research compliance activities
• Support manuscript preparation, literature reviews, and other research-related projects
• Work closely with investigators, research staff, participants, and families to support ongoing studies

Salary range: $30.12/hr - $35.92/hr

Job qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related field (preferred)
• Experience coordinating research activities, data collection, and data entry
• Experience with statistical software such as SPSS (preferred)
• Familiarity with clinical or behavioral research methodologies (preferred)
• Ability to work with children, adolescents, and families
• Knowledge of child and adolescent psychiatric or neurodevelopment disorders (preferred)
• Experience assisting with IRB submissions, regulatory processes, or research publications (preferred)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Experience working independently and following through on assignments with minimal supervision
• Proficiency with Microsoft office and computer-based data management systems
• Experience maintaining organized and accurate records
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with research participants, faculty, staff, and community members
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
