Position Overview

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will drive wholesale growth through outbound phone sales and relationship development. You will introduce Spirit Stakes to prospective retailers and business customers, learn about their needs, recommend products and assortments, secure opening orders, and nurture accounts for repeat business.

Your customers may include independent garden centers, hardware stores, florists, gift shops, college stores, bakeries, and school fundraising organizations. You will have the opportunity to speak with a wide range of buyers and help them discover products that can add variety, personality, and incremental revenue to their businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Make daily outbound calls to prospective wholesale customers and identify owners, buyers, and purchasing decision-makers.
• Build rapport quickly and create productive conversations with new prospects.
• Explain Spirit Stakes products, pricing, order requirements, display options, and seasonal sales opportunities.
• Ask thoughtful questions to understand each customer’s business, customer base, and merchandising needs.
• Recommend relevant products, sizes, school assortments, and displays based on each account’s goals.
• Send product information, quotes, samples, and follow-up emails.
• Convert qualified prospects into new wholesale accounts and secure opening orders.
• Develop trusted relationships that lead to reorders, referrals, and long-term account growth.
• Contact existing customers to generate reorders, introduce new products, and support seasonal promotions.
• Follow up promptly on inbound inquiries, samples, trade show leads, and outstanding quotes.
• Maintain an organized sales pipeline and consistently move opportunities forward.
• Enter orders accurately in Shopify and maintain complete, current customer records in the company’s CRM.
• Coordinate with production and shipping to communicate accurate availability and delivery expectations.
• Address routine customer questions and coordinate timely resolution of order issues.
• Meet established goals for outbound calls, qualified conversations, new accounts, sales, and repeat orders.
• Share customer feedback, market insights, objections, product requests, and competitor information with the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in inside sales, outbound calling, telemarketing, wholesale sales, account development, or a related customer-facing role preferred.
• A track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals is highly valued.
• Strong telephone communication, listening, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence making cold calls, asking for orders, handling objections, and following up consistently.
• A consultative sales approach: you listen first, understand the customer’s needs, and recommend solutions rather than simply reciting product information.
• Strong organization and attention to detail when preparing quotes, managing opportunities, and entering orders.
• Ability to manage a sales pipeline, prioritize follow-up, and work independently toward measurable goals.
• Basic computer skills and comfort using email, spreadsheets, and customer management software.
• Shopify or CRM experience is a plus.
• Experience selling to retailers, garden centers, florists, gift shops, college stores, or other wholesale customers is helpful.
• Interest in collegiate merchandise, gardening, gifts, celebrations, or licensed consumer products is a plus.
• A positive, resilient attitude and the ability to stay motivated through both wins and challenges.
