Accounting Office Business Manager

Summary The Business Manager is to provide the necessary planning, organization, direction, coordination, and control to meet the operational, finance and accounting, administrative and Human Resource goals of the dealership. Another basic function of the position is to provide on-going support and expertise for all management, as well as assisting them in establishing goals, objectives, policies and procedures for all departments. The position requires attention to detail and accuracy. This is a salary position. This is an open position for Subaru of Las Vegas. Essential Functions

• Hires, trains, and supervises office personnel.
• Displays knowledge of manufacturer and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations and laws pertaining to the automotive industry.
• Assists in the maintenance of a uniform system of control and accountability of the office, including segregation of duties where applicable and cost beneficial.
• Assist in the maintenance of the operating procedures over the Cashier function ensuring that proper accountability and control is maintained over all transactions handled.
• Meets regularly with the management staff to ensure the free flow of information and a close coordination of effort.
• Compiles information and prepares reports as requested by management.
• Prepares a complete and accurate financial statement monthly according to Findlay Automotive Group guidelines by the end of the day of the 4th business day of the month.
• Submits a complete and accurate financial statement monthly to the manufacturer in the required format and by the manufacturer’s deadline.
• Maintains the Chart of Accounts and adjusts as needed for operating, budgeting, or accounting requirements or as required by the manufacturer.
• Ensures the proper accountability and control of the company’s petty cash account.
• Ensures daily bank reconciliation is completed, and bank deposit is prepared.
• Ensures monthly physical inventories are performed and reconciled to the general ledger.
• Ensures monthly flooring reconciliation is completed.
• Reconciles other select accounts monthly.
• Ensures that a proactive accounts payable system is in place that maximizes positive cash flow from operations and only pays properly issued invoices.
• Ensures timely payoff of flooring on sold vehicles.
• Monitors contracts-in-transit, vehicle receivables and all other receivables to ensure timely receipt of payment.
• Ensures that all manufacturer accounts including warranty claims, rebates, interest, parts statement, and co-op advertising are current and accurate.
• Closes month by processing accounting month-end and archiving documents.
• Ensures compliance with the state and federal record retention regulations.
• Ensures payroll is completed timely and accurately.
• Ensures benefit plan contributions are calculated properly and remitted timely.
• Ensures accurate reporting and timely remittance of all sales, payroll, and personal property taxes and any other county, state, and federal taxes.
• Ensures timely remittance of real estate taxes.
• Ensures that an effective filing and security system is established and maintained for deal jackets, repair orders, counter tickets, and any other customer information
• Ensure employee files are secure and confidential.
• Maintains a professional appearance.
• Attend managers’ meetings as requested.
• Perform monthly parts pad to general ledger reconciliation with parts manager.
• Ensures hiring and termination paperwork is completed correctly.
• Assists with completion of the annual review/audit.
• Controls dealer plates and maintains a log of plates issued.
• Assists General Manager and General Sales Manager with managing the factory advertising budget, approval, and submit to factory administrator monthly.
• Assists, supports and at times facilitates the next steps as provided by Human Resources Representative with HR inquiries, concerns, federal tasks and investigations at the store as needed.
• Assists General Manager and Controller with investigations at the store when needed as appropriate to matter.

• Strong Leadership skills

• 2 years or more as a business manager/ controller in the automotive business
• Strong excel skills
• Payroll knowledge
• CDK experience preferred
