RN Cardiac ICU

About the Unit 6 East is a Coronary Intensive Care unit with 20 ICU beds. The patient population includes cardiogenic shock, acute MI, pulmonary embolism, congestive heart failure, and temperature management patients post cardiac arrest. The unit manages a high interventional population including mitral clip, TAVR and ablation patients, and handles critical care patients with IABP, right and left Impella, CRRT, and Swan‑Ganz monitoring. Scope of Work The RN, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process to provide professional care that incorporates patient‑family centered care principles. The RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and discharges patients, following Corewell Health policies and procedures. The RN partners with patients and families, utilizes their input and goals in planning care, develops teaching strategies, and documents education and learning appropriately in the health record. Qualifications Associate’s in Nursing required. Bachelor’s in Nursing required within 5 years of graduation. Graduates from a non‑accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health‑care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination. Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) status required. AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required. AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of employment.
