About the RoleThe Allocation Manager sits at the critical intersection of Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance. In this role, you will act as the strategic gatekeeper of our inventory, ensuring that available product is deployed to maximize financial return and honor key customer commitments. You will analyze large and exceptional orders, manage supply constraints, and partner directly with the Sales organization to validate true customer demand versus requested quantities. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical capabilities paired with exceptional negotiation and conflict-resolution skills. We are committed to a thriving in-office culture. This role requires that you be on-site at our office in San Mateo, CA 5 days a week.What You'll DoStrategic Order Management: Review, evaluate, and approve large, exceptional, or out-of-cycle orders to ensure they align with current supply capabilities and business strategy.Inventory Allocation: Distribute constrained inventory across customer accounts based on strategic tiering, contractual commitments, and the company's financial and revenue plans.Demand Validation (Sales Partnership): Collaborate closely with Sales leadership and Account Managers to determine true customer "need" versus initial requests, preventing inventory hoarding and ensuring equitable distribution.S&OE (Sales & Operations Execution): Bridge the gap between long-term supply plans and daily execution, acting as the final decision-maker on order fulfillment priorities during stockouts or supply disruptions.Financial Alignment: Partner with Finance to ensure allocation decisions support quarterly revenue targets, margin goals, and inventory turnover KPIs.Process Improvement: Develop and implement standardized allocation playbooks, rules of engagement, and escalation procedures for the Sales and Supply Chain teams to follow.What You BringExperience: 5+ years in Supply Chain Operations, Logistics, Order Management, or Supply Chain Program ManagementHardware Environment: Direct experience with physical hardware, complex industrial equipment, or capital assets — not solely software or servicesLogistics Expertise: Proven experience managing multi-pallet freight, WHS-to-WHS transfers, and US-to-International shipping, including working knowledge of Incoterms, customs, and freight forwardingTechnical Aptitude: Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and validate technical equipment specifications, trailer or vehicle configurations, and regional compliance requirementsProgram Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multi-quarter project rollouts using standard templates, ERPs, and CRMs to track progressStakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between Sales (commercial needs), Product (technical constraints), and Warehousing (physical reality)Problem Solving: A bias for action and a high tolerance for ambiguity; you excel at managing escalations and reprioritizing on the flyInfluence Without Authority: Track record of driving accountability across teams you do not manageWillingness to travel to customer sites, 3PL facilities, and partner locations as needed (approximately [10–20]%)Must be willing and able to commute 5 days in office.US Employee BenefitsVerkada is committed to fostering a workplace environment that prioritizes the holistic health and wellbeing of our employees and their families by offering comprehensive wellness perks, benefits, and resources. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity.
