Title: Power BI Developer - Financial Dashboarding for Executive Business Reviews Location: Houston, TX 77056 Duration: Contract Work Authorization: US Citizen, Green Card, or authorized to work in the US Hybrid: 3 days onsite Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and analytical Power BI Developer to design, build, and maintain executive-level financial dashboards for Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) . The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with finance, operations, and leadership teams to create compelling, interactive dashboards that provide actionable insights on key business performance metrics such as Net Revenue , EBITDA , Cash Flow , SG&A , Production Efficiency , and Distribution/Transportation Costs . Key Responsibilities: Dashboard Design & Development: Design and develop high-impact, visually compelling Power BI dashboards tailored for executive-level consumption. Translate complex financial and operational data into intuitive visuals and metrics aligned with MBR/QBR processes. Build drill-down capabilities to allow executives to explore metric drivers by region, product line, or business unit. Data Modeling & Integration: Connect to diverse data sources including SAP (FI/CO), Snowflake, AWS S3, Excel, and SQL Server to create reliable, refreshable data models. Develop and optimize DAX queries and data transformations (Power Query/M) for high performance and scalability. Ensure semantic models are aligned with business definitions for KPIs and metrics. Business Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams to gather requirements and align KPIs with strategic goals. Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand current pain points and translate them into user-centric dashboard features. Regularly present dashboard updates, insights, and enhancement plans to leadership teams. Governance & Documentation: Ensure data security, access control, and compliance with internal governance standards. Maintain comprehensive documentation on dashboard logic, data sources, and business rules. Implement CI/CD processes and version control for Power BI artifacts. Key Metrics Supported: Financial: Net Revenue, Gross Profit, EBITDA, Operating Income, Cash Flow (Operating, Investing, Financing) Operational: Production Volumes, Yield, Utilization Rates, Cost per Unit Cost Metrics: SG&A Cost, Transportation & Distribution Costs, Inventory Turnover Strategic KPIs: Variance Analysis (Actual vs. Forecast/Budget), Working Capital, ROIC Qualifications and Skills: 5+ years of experience in BI development with a strong focus on Power BI. 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or working with finance-related KPIs. Expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and building complex data models. Proficiency in SQL and integrating cloud data sources (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure). Experience in creating dashboards tailored to C-level audiences with strong UX/visualization design principles. Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex datasets and translate them into executive-level insights. Preferred: Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or distribution industries. Familiarity with SAP data structures, particularly FI/CO, MM, and SD modules. Background in data warehousing and ETL design. Exposure to corporate finance concepts such as P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis. Soft Skills: Executive presence and the ability to present complex data in a concise, insightful manner. Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. Proactive problem solver who can work independently and in cross-functional teams. Effective communicator with the ability to translate technical language for business stakeholders.
