DoMainframe Performance & Capacity ManagementLead performance management activities across BMO's enterprise mainframe environment.Analyze system performance, identify trends, and proactively address potential capacity or performance concerns before they impact users.Utilize data-driven analysis and capacity modeling techniques to ensure environments remain scalable, resilient, and aligned with business growth.Investigate complex performance issues and apply creative, out-of-the-box thinking to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.Develop insights and recommendations through analysis of system metrics, utilization trends, and operational data.Understand and apply capacity modeling methodologies to support forecasting, strategic planning, and operational readiness.Production Support & Operations ExcellenceProvide expert support for mission-critical systems operating in a 24x7x365 environment.Lead the response, diagnosis, and resolution of production incidents, program failures, and system performance issues.Monitor system health, performance, logging, alerting, and operational processes to maintain service excellence.Ensure business service levels, availability targets, and operational commitments are consistently achieved.Participate in testing cycles to validate operational readiness and successful deployment of infrastructure and applications.Deploy, implement, and provision applications and infrastructure in accordance with deployment plans and build standards.Strategic Leadership & CollaborationServe as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for mainframe performance management and capacity planning.Partner with technology teams, engineering groups, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to recommend and implement operational improvements.Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities to inform technology decision-making and strategy.Mentor team members, share expertise, and contribute to the development of technical communities of practice across BMO.Influence operational strategy and promote innovative solutions, processes, and technologies that enhance platform performance and reliability.Operate at an enterprise level, providing specialized expertise and guidance to senior leaders and stakeholders.Innovation & Continuous ImprovementProactively identify opportunities to strengthen operational capabilities and improve service delivery.Drive initiatives that enhance monitoring, automation, performance optimization, and operational effectiveness.Champion a culture of technologies, and best practices in mainframe operations, performance management, and capacity planning.What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications7-12 years of experience supporting large-scale mainframe environments.Expert-level knowledge of Mainframe Performance Management.Strong experience with production support, IT operations, monitoring, incident management, service restoration, and maintaining mission-critical systems.Deep understanding of enterprise monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational support processes.Proven experience troubleshooting complex performance, capacity, and availability issues.Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.Experience with operational support practices, concepts, and technologies gained through formal training and/or practical experience.Strong understanding of system dependencies, infrastructure, and operational processes.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.Strong collaboration and relationship management skills with a focus on cross-functional partnerships.Ability to manage ambiguity and navigate complex organizational environments.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Capacity Modeling, forecasting, and performance planning methodologies.Hands-on experience with IntelliMagic for performance analytics, reporting, capacity management, and infrastructure optimization.Experience applying Data Science, advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and predictive analysis techniques to performance management, operational intelligence, and capacity forecasting.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Data Science, or a related discipline.Experience supporting large-scale enterprise financial services environments.Demonstrated ability to identify trends Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
