A day in the life

Step onto our Louisville, KY shop floor on a Monday morning and you’ll kick off the first-shift huddle, aligning the QC team on the day’s priorities for heavy structural builds. You’ll walk the line inspecting welded assemblies, review traveler paperwork, and spot-check measurements with gauges, calipers, and micrometers. Mid-morning, you’ll audit an in-process fabrication, coach a welder on a quality standard, and log nonconformances in our quality control software. After lunch, you’ll analyze quality data trends, collaborate with production on a corrective action, and brief leadership on your findings and recommendations. You’ll end the day planning a short training on ISO-driven procedures for tomorrow.

• 1st Shift: M–F

• Lead and mentor the quality control team to uphold company standards and meet applicable industry regulations.
• Perform routine inspections and formal audits of fabrication processes and finished structural products.
• Create, refine, and enforce QC procedures and protocols to boost throughput and reduce defects.
• Partner closely with production to identify improvements and deliver targeted training on quality expectations.
• Collect and interpret quality metrics; produce clear reports and present recommendations to management.
• Respond quickly to quality issues, driving root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Keep current with best practices in fabrication quality, including methods aligned to heavy structural work.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in quality control/assurance within a fabrication environment.
• Proven leadership and team management capability.
• Strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of QC methodologies and systems (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a drive for high standards.
