Job Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient evaluations, encompassing physical examinations and detailed histories
• Assist in diagnosing surgical issues by interpreting imaging studies and laboratory results
• Work closely with surgeons to devise and implement tailored surgical treatment plans
• Provide essential intraoperative assistance, including preparing operating rooms, ensuring proper patient positioning, and handing off surgical instruments
• Offer exceptional pre-and post-operative care that includes managing medications, wound care, discharge planning, and patient education

Education Requirements

• A master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Preferably a track record of clinical rotations with a surgical focus

Certifications Required

• Active and unrestricted PA-C certification
• BLS and ACLS certifications are necessary
• State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant

Skills Needed

• Solid understanding of surgical principles and sterile techniques
