Happy Endings In-Home Pet Euthanasia is an established, family-owned mobile veterinary practice that has been serving the Phoenix Valley for many years. Job description:  

This is a full-time, on-site Veterinarian role based in Phoenix, AZ. The Veterinarian will visit clients’ homes to provide humane euthanasia services, including pre-visit consultations, medical assessment of the pet, and clear explanation of the process to pet guardians. Day-to-day tasks include administering sedation and euthanasia medications, monitoring patient comfort, and ensuring a peaceful, professional environment during the appointment. The role involves coordinating logistics and scheduling with the support team, documenting medical information and consent, and guiding families through memorial or aftercare options. The Veterinarian will also maintain proper handling, storage, and transport procedures for remains when requested and uphold all state and professional regulations.

This position offers a calmer and more personal alternative to traditional veterinary practice. Our goal is to create a sustainable work environment with a strong focus on quality of life, meaningful client interactions, and avoiding the burnout that has become so common in corporate and high-volume hospital settings. There is no corporate oversight, production pressure, or rushed appointment model. 

We are seeking a compassionate veterinarian to join our growing team as we expand to better serve families throughout the Valley while maintaining the level of care and reputation our clients and referring veterinarians have come to trust. 

 

 

Schedule 

• Approximately 4.5 days per week 
• Alternating Saturdays 
• Mobile appointments throughout the Phoenix metro area 
• Flexible scheduling structure

Compensation & Benefits  

• $130,000 - $140,000 annual salary

Ideal Candidate  

We are looking for a veterinarian who is: 

• Compassionate and emotionally intelligent 
• Calm and communicative with families 
• Comfortable working independently 
• Reliable, professional, and adaptable 
• Comfortable driving throughout the Valley 
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds. 

Requirements 

• Licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) in Arizona, in good standing, with experience in small animal practice or end-of-life care. 
• Ability to perform humane euthanasia, including appropriate sedation protocols, pain management, and patient monitoring. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide clear information, emotional support, and calm guidance to clients in high-stress situations. 
• High level of empathy, emotional resilience, and professionalism when working with grieving families and sensitive end-of-life decisions. 
• Ability to travel locally in and around Phoenix, AZ, including safe transport of medications and equipment, and adherence to all safety and legal requirements. 
• Excellent record-keeping skills and attention to detail in documenting medical histories, informed consent, and service notes. 
• Comfort working independently in clients’ homes, with sound clinical judgment and reliable decision-making. 
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed, and willingness to collaborate with a small, mission-driven team. 
• Prior experience in hospice, palliative care, or in-home veterinary services is preferred but not required. 
• Arizona veterinary license required 
• DEA license required 
• Valid driver’s license required
