Senior Fund Accountant

A growing international multi-billion alternative investment hedge fund is seeking a Fund Accountant for their expanding accounting and finance team.  Working closely with the Fund Controller and Corporate Controller, the Fund Accountant will assist in the monthly and quarterly close, preparation of financial statements, and analysis of investment of activity.

• $110-125k plus bonus

Responsibilities

• Accounting oversight (GAAP) for several of the firm’s fund products, including monthly valuation procedures, with a focus on hedge funds and fund of funds.
• Assist with preparation and review of annual financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Cash reconciliation procedures for fund investment purposes.
• Communicating performance results to investors and resolving investors’ questions.
• Custom reporting and projects for investor specific needs.
• Partnering and communicating with various internal business units regarding fund products and performance data.
• Group project opportunities related to implementation of new product accounting and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting, preferably out of the Big 4.  Would consider private equity or hedge fund experience
• CPA desired
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and partnership accounting
