Real Estate Associate

A leading national law firm is seeking a 2nd-4th year Real Estate Associate to join its sophisticated Real Estate Practice Group. The position offers the opportunity to work on complex commercial real estate and financing matters within a collaborative, team-based environment, with direct exposure to partners and clients. The firm is seeking a well-rounded, highly motivated associate with strong academic credentials, excellent writing and communication skills, and a genuine interest in developing their real estate practice. Office locations: Austin, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, Madison, Miami, Milwaukee, Orlando, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco and Tampa. Salary: $240,000-$350,000, dependent on experience and location. Responsibilities: Advise clients on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions and financing matters. Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, licenses, leases and other real estate documentation. Draft and negotiate loan agreements and other documents relating to real estate financing transactions. Handle matters involving a broad range of property types, including mixed-use, office, multifamily, retail, hotel and resort assets. Work on easements, CC&Rs, development-related agreements and property management agreements. Work directly with partners and clients on complex transactions. Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's Real Estate Practice and wider platform. Develop a well-rounded commercial real estate practice through exposure to a diverse range of matters and clients. Contribute to a positive, collegial and team-oriented working environment. Qualifications: 2nd-4th year associate with suitable commercial real estate experience. Experience with commercial real estate and financing transactions. Experience drafting and negotiating real estate documentation, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, licenses and related agreements. Experience with real estate financing documents, including loan agreements, is preferred. Experience with real estate development and joint venture matters is a plus but not required. Strong academic credentials. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, collaborative attitude. Exceptional work ethic and ability to manage responsibilities in a sophisticated practice. JD from an ABA-approved law school. Must be in good standing and an active member of the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction. Timely admission to the Bar corresponding with the office of hire will be required.
