Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, welcoming, and well-functioning environment for students, faculty, staff, families, and visitors. This position plays an important role in supporting the mission of the Catholic school by ensuring that classrooms, common areas, restrooms, offices, and other school facilities are maintained to a high standard. The ideal candidate is dependable, conscientious, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and orderly environment. The Custodian works cooperatively with school administration, faculty, and staff, demonstrates respect and professionalism in interactions with students and families, and supports the Catholic mission and values of the school. The successful candidate will be attentive to safety, responsive to the needs of the school community, and committed to creating a positive environment in which students can learn, grow, and thrive. Job Responsibilities Clean and maintain parish and school facilities after scheduled events Sweep and mop floors in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas Clean and sanitize restrooms Clean glass doors, windows, and other surfaces as needed Dust furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces Empty trash and replace liners Ensure facilities are returned to a clean and orderly condition after use Assist with snow removal across parish and school grounds as needed, including walkways and entrances Report maintenance or safety concerns to appropriate parish or school personnel Job Requirements Ability to work evenings and/or weekends on an as-needed basis Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning equipment Willingness and ability to assist with snow removal as needed Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness Ability to work independently and follow instructions Dependable, punctual, and respectful of parish property The Archdiocese of St. Louis is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
