Clinical Supervisor

New England Orthopedic Surgeons (NEOS) is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to join our Clinical Services team. The Clinical Supervisor will support the Senior Director of Operations in the day-to-day oversight of clinical operations and provide direct leadership, guidance, and support to clinical staff.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced healthcare professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, developing teams, improving workflows, and helping ensure a high-quality patient experience.

The Clinical Supervisor will work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, and organizational leadership to support efficient operations, appropriate staffing, employee accountability, and consistent adherence to clinical and organizational standards.

What You'll Do

• Support the Senior Director of Operations with the daily management and oversight of clinical operations.
• Provide direct supervision, leadership, and support to assigned clinical staff.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, daily assignments, and coverage to ensure appropriate clinical support based on patient and operational needs.
• Serve as a clinical leadership resource and provide operational support in the absence of the Senior Director of Operations.
• Promote a professional, collaborative, and solution-focused work environment while modeling NEOS standards and expectations.
• Identify and address workflow, staffing, and operational concerns and escalate significant issues as appropriate.
• Maintain effective communication with clinical staff, physicians, advanced practice providers, and other departments.
• Promote accountability and ensure staff follow established policies, procedures, workflows, and clinical standards.
• Support the orientation, training, development, and ongoing education of clinical staff.
• Provide coaching and feedback and assist with performance management and corrective action when appropriate.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations and assist with establishing individual performance goals.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, professionalism, and adherence to organizational expectations.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts for clinical staff.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and reinforcement of clinical policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Support standards for safe, efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care.
• Promote compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, patient safety, and other applicable regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Participate in clinical leadership and management meetings and contribute to organizational initiatives and process improvement.
• Assist with the implementation of new programs, technology, software, workflows, and practice initiatives.
• Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to promote consistency and effective coordination of patient care.
• Address employee concerns professionally while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and discretion.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, patient flow, employee performance, and the overall patient experience.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Operations.

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience in medical practice operations, clinical supervision, healthcare management, or a related healthcare leadership role preferred.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working in a multi-provider or specialty medical practice preferred.
• Healthcare-related licensure, certification, degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills within a healthcare environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, employees, patients, and leadership.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and develop staff while maintaining appropriate accountability.
• Comfortable managing difficult conversations and addressing workplace and operational concerns professionally.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and effectively use electronic health records and other healthcare technology.
• Ability to adapt to changing workflows, technology, organizational priorities, and operational needs.
• Working knowledge of clinical operations, patient flow, healthcare administration, and medical practice management.

Training & Compliance

The Clinical Supervisor will be expected to complete all required NEOS orientation and compliance training, including:

• HIPAA and privacy
• OSHA and workplace safety
• Infection control
• Patient safety
• Electronic health record and software training
• Annual regulatory and organizational training
• Additional training required to support changes in clinical operations, technology, or organizational policies

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position works primarily in a busy orthopedic medical practice and clinical environment and involves frequent interaction with patients, physicians, advanced practice providers, employees, and leadership.

The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and respond professionally to occasional stressful situations. The position may involve prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer use, as well as occasional bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs, and handling medical or office supplies.

The Clinical Supervisor must maintain flexibility in work hours and assignments based on operational and staffing needs.

Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000
