Position Summary The Clerk IV provides advanced administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient functioning of departmental processes and services. This role performs complex clerical tasks, coordinates communication across internal and external partners, and supports daily office operations with a high level of independence and accuracy. Responsibilities include managing detailed records, assisting with workflow systems, supporting departmental staff, and serving as a reliable point of contact for visitors, students, and campus partners. The Clerk IV is expected to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to a smooth, well‑organized administrative environment. Job Specific Duties & Tasks Researches information, prepares, reviews and analyzes documents such as reports, applications, and records applicable to a specialized subject area requiring independent informational search and knowledge of the policies and procedures of both the assigned and related work areas. Creates and maintains a complex database that requires specialized subject matter knowledge, analyzes the data to maintain the database and generate reports, and troubleshoots database problems for staff. Advises staff, faculty, and others requiring interpretation of policies and regulations of specific projects or programs in the assigned work area. Coordinates intra‑unit and inter‑unit operations and procedures, and participates in regular staff meetings to discuss and assist in developing operational policies and procedures. Composes correspondence requiring judgment in the application of policies and procedures in both the assigned and related work areas. Required Qualifications Any combination of progressively responsible related clerical office experience, undergraduate education, and/or post‑high‑school clerical training that is equivalent to four years of full‑time employment. Desirable Qualifications Experience with computerized maintenance software. Experience with card access.
