About the Position We are seeking a Universal Banker to provide exceptional customer service while supporting both the teller line and platform functions of the branch. This position handles a variety of everyday banking transactions, assists customers with their account needs, opens new accounts, and identifies opportunities to connect customers with products and services that may benefit them. The Universal Banker is an important part of the branch team and provides flexible coverage across branch functions while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and compliance with Bank policies and regulations. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Banking Transactions Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to new and existing customers. Process a variety of routine banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, transfers, loan payments, payoffs, cashier's checks, cash advances, and other account transactions. Process ATM, night deposit, mail deposit, term deposit, and retirement savings transactions as applicable. Assist customers with debit card orders and maintenance. Answer routine customer questions regarding account balances, histories, interest rates, service charges, and other banking services while maintaining customer privacy and meeting disclosure requirements. Identify and appropriately elevate complex customer concerns, complaints, or special requests. Account Opening & Relationship Development Open and maintain consumer and business deposit accounts, including checking, savings, and money market accounts. Develop a strong understanding of Millennium Bank's products and services to identify customer needs and provide appropriate solutions. Recognize cross-selling and referral opportunities and connect customers with the appropriate banking professional. Participate in sales, service, and product training to stay knowledgeable about Bank offerings. Build positive customer relationships that contribute to customer retention and overall branch growth. Cash Handling & Branch Operations Accurately process and balance cash transactions while maintaining appropriate cash levels and reporting discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor. Buy, sell, and obtain currency from the vault as needed while following established cash limits and procedures. Balance and maintain the ATM as assigned. Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently while exercising sound judgment when evaluating potential loss, fraud, or other risk. Maintain accurate records and follow established operational, security, and internal control procedures. Compliance & Team Support Follow all Bank policies, procedures, security requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations. Maintain working knowledge of applicable banking regulations, including BSA, CRA, Regulation E, Regulation CC, and consumer privacy requirements. Obtain appropriate approvals and authorizations when required. Participate in cross-training and support other branch functions as needed to provide consistent branch coverage. Work collaboratively with branch management and other team members to support branch goals and provide a positive customer experience. Perform other duties as assigned. At least 1 year of banking experience preferred. 2+ years of cash handling and customer service experience preferred. Previous experience working directly with the public preferred. Experience with account opening, teller operations, or retail banking preferred. Skills & Qualifications Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide professional, friendly, and responsive service. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management. Ability to accurately handle cash and perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to exercise sound judgment when processing customer transactions and identifying potential fraud or loss. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive customer information. Ability to learn and apply banking policies, procedures, products, and regulations. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing branch needs. Strong work ethic, reliability, professionalism, and commitment to customer service.
