• data center technician holds the responsibility of installing, maintaining, and monitoring the equipment and systems within a data center.
• Ensure the proper functioning and updated status of both hardware and software, playing a vital role in safeguarding data security and availability.
Hardware installation and maintenance:
• One of the primary roles of a data center technician is to install, configure, and maintain servers, racks, and other related equipment.
• This includes replacing defective components, performing upgrades, and ensuring that all systems are running optimally.
Network monitoring and troubleshooting:
• Technicians continuously monitor network traffic and server performance.
• If issues arise, they must quickly troubleshoot and rectify the problems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous service availability.
• Software installation and updates: Keeping software up-to-date is vital.
• Technicians install, configure, update, and patch operating systems, applications, and other software to ensure security and optimum performance.
Security measures:
• data center technician implements and monitors security protocols to protect data from unauthorized access, malware, and breaches.
• This includes setting up firewalls, monitoring access logs, and collaborating with security teams.
Backup and recovery:
