Surgical Tech – Surgery

Schedule: Orientation: 16 hours

Assignment Details: Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.

Requirements:

• Valid state license: CA license must be in hand (pending license not accepted)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS
• Years of experience required: 5
• Scrub requirement: Must be able to scrub and circulate
• Background/licensure hits: Must disclose up front; no open license hits approved
• Holiday commitment: Must commit to working 3 of these 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing the operating room by ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to facilitate smooth surgical procedures.
• Scrub in and assist during surgical operations, ensuring proper protocols and practices are followed.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure and handle instruments and supplies as needed.
• Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes to the surgical team.

Compliance / Notes:

• Pre-approved time off: 1
• Floating: Required to float to Main OR as needed; all travelers expected to float between facilities within the state.
• Modules: Pre-start modules (~16 hours on average); completed annually.
• Return staff: Eligible after 3 months.
