The qualified candidate will have exciting, challenging, and rewarding opportunities to support existing and develop next generation military communications applications. This important work contributes to the safety and effectiveness of US and allied nations warfighters. The software engineers working in this field often work on a variety of cutting edge projects over their careers, as we design embedded systems for the ground, air, shipboard, and space-based communication systems.Essential Functions:Contribute to lifecycle of embedded real-time systems by designing, coding, testing, debugging, and updating developmental and fielded systemsMaintain and review requirements, design documentation and source codeCollaborate with a cross-functional engineering teamContributes to the development of technical responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) by providing effort estimation, rationale (basis of estimate), and risk analysis based on Statements of Work (SOWs)Works mostly autonomously and mentors junior engineersAbility to obtain and retain a security clearance is required for this job postingQualifications:• Bachelors Degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred) and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
