Laser Engraving Machine Operator

The Laser Engraving Machine Operator is responsible for operating laser engraving equipment to apply serial numbers, part markings, identification information, and other required features to precision manufactured components. Working from engineering drawings, work instructions, and production documentation, this individual ensures parts are accurately engraved and meet all customer, quality, and traceability requirements.

This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established processes, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Machine Operator will work closely with Machining, Quality, and Production teams to support on-time delivery of customer products.

Key responsibilities include operating laser engraving equipment, loading and positioning parts, reviewing work instructions, performing visual and dimensional inspections, monitoring machine performance, identifying and communicating quality concerns, maintaining inventory, supporting continuous improvement efforts, performing routine maintenance, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, following company policies, and being available for occasional overtime.

Required skills and qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience, ability to read and follow work instructions, strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, mechanical aptitude, ability to use measuring and inspection equipment, ability to prioritize work, strong organizational and communication skills, and demonstrated reliability, accountability, and commitment to quality.

Additional requirements include being a U.S. person as defined by U.S. law.

Work environment and physical demands include working primarily within a manufacturing environment, prolonged periods of standing and walking, regular use of hands, fingers, and arms, frequent handling of small and precision-manufactured components, frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and movement, visual acuity, regular use of computers and production software, lifting and carrying materials, exposure to manufacturing environment, wearing safety glasses and other required personal protective equipment, maintaining focus and accuracy, supporting multiple workstations or production areas, and occasional overtime.
