Physician Assistant - Surgical, Thoracic Surgery

Department/Unit: Surgery Administration Work Shift: Day Salary Range: $138,963 - $162,123 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical & Surgical Care Assess, diagnose, and manage thoracic surgery patients Assist in thoracic surgical procedures (open, VATS, robotic) Manage pre/peri/postoperative care ICU & Critical Care Manage ICU and step-down patients Monitor ventilatory and hemodynamic status Manage complications Procedures Chest tubes Central/arterial lines Thoracentesis Care Coordination Daily rounds and documentation Manage consults/admissions/discharges Collaboration Partner with Division Chief, physicians, APPs, and hospital leadership Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams (ICU, OR, inpatient units, etc.) Participate in leadership meetings, operational planning, and case discussions as appropriate Patient Education Educate patients and families Quality & Compliance Documentation and coding Quality initiatives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred Experience in thoracic or cardiothoracic service lines Familiarity with high-acuity, surgical, and ICU-related workflows This role may require access to information considered sensitive to Albany Medical Center, its patients, affiliates, and partners, including but not limited to HIPAA Protected Health Information and other information regulated by Federal and New York State statutes.
