Position Details – Cytotechnologist Float

Location: St. Joseph's Hospital – Tampa, FL Facility: BayCare Health System – Cytology Services Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (may vary based on operational needs) Schedule: Flexible; occasional weekends required Float Requirement: Must be willing to travel and float between BayCare facilities as needed

Position Summary

The Cytotechnologist – Float provides high-quality cytology services with a primary home base at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, while floating to other BayCare facilities as needed. This role requires schedule flexibility, reliable transportation, and adaptability to multiple laboratory environments while maintaining BayCare's standards of excellence and patient-centered care.

Requirements

• ASCP Certified Technologist in Cytology
• State of Florida Clinical Laboratory License – Cytotechnologist
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Bachelor's requirement may be waived if certified prior to 1985
• Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of cytology experience
• Hospital experience not required — training available
• Ability and willingness to travel between facilities and maintain a flexible work schedule
