Provide a clean and safe physical environment including all areas within the building and the grounds, which include entrances, walkways, parking areas and other outdoor school property. Starting Salary: $21.50 (Sub Custodian) based on experience. Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Gather and empty trash. Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Follow procedures for the use of cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Mix water and cleaning agents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. Notify supervisors concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors using approved cleaners/equipment. Steam clean or shampoo carpets. Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events or meetings. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks/dollies. Maintain clean grounds outside of building. Complete snow removal as required. Write up work orders as needed using District work-order program (currently "School Dude"). Change lamps and lighting ballasts as needed. Report on I.P.M. issues. Raise and lower US flag as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrators, maintenance supervisor, and/or district administrators.
