Evening Custodian - PART TIME

Custodian Location: Payette School District Position Type: Classified Work Schedule: Year-round | Part-Time, Evenings during the School Year. Reports To: Maintenance Director. Works closely with the Building Administrative team. Position Summary The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly school environment. This position performs routine cleaning, sanitation, and light maintenance duties to ensure school facilities are welcoming and functional for students, staff, and visitors. Custodians play an important role in supporting a positive learning environment by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and facility care. This is a part-time position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. Clean classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and carpets Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners Clean and disinfect restrooms, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures Maintain cleanliness of doors, windows, walls, and furniture Restock restroom supplies including paper towels, soap, and toilet paper Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for school activities and events Assist with building security by locking and unlocking doors as assigned Monitor building conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or adjusting fixtures Follow safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment Assist with seasonal duties such as snow removal or grounds cleanup as assigned Maintain custodial equipment and storage areas in an organized and safe manner Support a positive and respectful school environment for students, staff, and visitors Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred but not required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and materials Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and custodial equipment Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff and students Basic understanding of safety procedures Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions Terms of Employment Salary and benefits in accordance with the Payette School District classified salary schedule Employment is contingent upon successful completion of: Criminal background check Fingerprinting Required district training Equal Opportunity Employer Payette School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable law.
