Cost Accounting Manager

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to lead cost accounting activities and partner with operations to improve financial visibility across the business. This is a highly visible position offering the opportunity to influence decision-making, enhance reporting, and support continued growth. Responsibilities Lead all cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation and product costing. Analyze manufacturing variances, inventory movements, and production costs. Partner with plant operations to improve cost controls and identify efficiency opportunities. Maintain standard costs and support periodic cost updates. Oversee inventory reconciliations, cycle count programs, and physical inventories. Assist with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Prepare management reporting and provide analysis to support operational and strategic decisions. Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning activities. Strengthen internal controls and continuously improve accounting processes. Partner with leadership on special projects and business initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing cost accounting. Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and month-end close. Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience required. CPA or CMA is a plus. Excellent analytical, communication, and business partnering skills.
