Job Overview Under supervision, responsible for basic supply ordering and replenishment, restocking of clean linen, removal of soiled linen, and responding to department special requests for supplies, linen, and supply‑chain managed patient equipment. Deliver and distribute department special orders while maintaining order and cleanliness of the storeroom and linen room. Responsibilities Organize, count, and replenish designated par‑level and Omnicell supply areas and linen inventories. Back‑fill Omnicells, rotate stock per FIFO protocol, and properly label inventory. Pull and fill storeroom inventory requisitions accurately. Distribute storeroom and department special‑order supplies and linens to appropriate areas on established schedules. Pick up soiled linens and patient equipment following safe‑treatment procedures, delivering to staging areas with carts loaded per JCAHO and regulatory standards. Assist in maintaining par‑level supply and linen inventories using information‑system applications. Continuously monitor supply levels, communicating discrepancies to supervisor as needed. Handle refrigerated, overnight, and rush shipments appropriately and expeditiously. Respond expeditiously to pages for special requests using handheld devices. Ensure incoming and outgoing linen is accounted for and weighed. Organize inventory storage locations, break down, discard boxes, and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area. Clean supply‑chain managed patient equipment after pickup from patient floors. Check and pull opened, damaged, expired, or excess inventory, replacing unusable items in accordance with policy. Participate in physical inventories and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory control. Stay abreast of technological changes in supply‑chain systems. Complete Supply Tech II exposure training within the first year; may be assigned to Supply Tech II duties and compensated accordingly. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school graduate or GED equivalent. Valid driver’s license preferred. Proficiency in written and verbal English. Knowledge of arithmetic including fractions and decimals. Self‑motivated organization and prioritization skills. Ability to perform under stress and in emergency situations. Ability to use proper body mechanics to lift 50 lbs. and move carts up to 500 lbs. safely. Functional computer knowledge with basic keyboarding skills. Basic knowledge of medical supplies and equipment terminology. Six months’ experience in supply‑chain distribution, warehousing, shipping, receiving, logistics, material handling, linen, inventory control, or a comparable service line. Additional Skills & Aptitudes Excellent customer‑service orientation to work effectively with hospital personnel, outside customers, and community groups.
