Commercial Roofing Estimator

Salary Range: $100,000 – $150,000 (based on experience)
Location: Delran, NJ
Reports To: Estimating Manager / Director of Preconstruction

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Commercial Roofing Estimator with a strong background in estimating commercial roofing projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the commercial roofing industry, a deep understanding of multiple commercial roof systems, and the ability to interpret complex architectural drawings and specifications. This individual should be analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of producing accurate, competitive estimates while working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed roofing estimates.
• Develop accurate labor, material, and equipment take-offs for multiple roofing systems.
• Evaluate project requirements to determine the best roofing system solutions and installation methods.
• Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and vendors to ensure accurate pricing and scope alignment.
• Review and interpret manufacturer guidelines and requirements for system compatibility and warranty compliance.
• Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals and budgets within deadlines.
• Utilize RoofCad , Microsoft Excel , and other estimating software tools to produce precise take-offs and cost breakdowns.
• Maintain organized documentation of estimates, bids, and project data.
• Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to clarify scope, pricing, and project details.
• Support post-bid review and project handoff to operations teams when awarded.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related math/technical discipline preferred , but not required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial roofing estimating.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including:
  • TPO, EPDM, PVC, Modified Bitumen, Built-Up, Torch, Shingle, Standing Seam Metal, and Roof Coatings.
• Familiarity with manufacturer systems and installation requirements from:
  • GAF, Elevate, Johns Manville, IKO, Carlisle, Sika Sarnafil, Flex, Tremco, Garland, Versico, and Siplast.
• Strong understanding of roofing construction methods, materials, and system composition.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite , Adobe Acrobat , and RoofCad .
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel .
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple estimates simultaneously.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
