Job Details The primary purpose of this position is to review patient account files and ensure their accuracy and completeness; determine appropriate billing; monitor outstanding accounts in a timely manner; and receive and answer billing-related inquiries. Responsibilities Review patient account files for accuracy and completeness. Determine appropriate billing. Monitor outstanding accounts in a timely manner. Receive and answer billing-related inquiries. Process patient account data accurately. Keep abreast of insurance billing guidelines. Provide patients with accurate information regarding payment alternatives and guidance to resources. Process and investigate denied claims for possible reprocessing. Monitor admitting information to ensure correct patient information. File inpatient and outpatient insurance claims promptly and accurately following UB92 and 1500 guidelines. Track patient accounts from filing through payment to ensure accurate payment is made. Maintain claims in billing software. Display courteous professional attitude with patients, staff and contacts. Qualifications Insurance experience required (Rural Health and Method 2). Proficient in using computer programs. Ability to gather information accurately to process each account.
