Speech Language Pathologist PRN

The Speech Language Pathologist PRN plans and administers speech language pathology services including evaluation, treatment and education programs for patients to restore speech, language and swallowing abilities.

Candidate will float between Taylor and Pflugerville facilities. This position will evaluate, treat, and monitor adult patients in the acute hospital setting.

Essential functions of the role include:

• Evaluating, treating and monitoring patients within the speech pathology treatment plan. Modifying therapy program and goals.
• Performing thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Entering charges accurately. Knowing reimbursement related to practice setting.
• Communicating effectively with patients and families, departmental coworkers and members of the medical care team. Providing education to patients, family and staff.
• Supervising students and volunteers. Clinical fellowship mentors and those in their clinical fellowship period will follow the American Speech Language Hearing Association supervision guidelines.
• Advancing clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice. Imparts knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national and state regulatory guidelines.
• Maintaining awareness of system goals. Aligning personal goals and work activities to uphold or impact the system goals.

• Must possess excellent social relation skills to include excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must demonstrate aptitude in assigned areas as specified for each clinician.
• Exhibits proven face-to-face synergy and leadership skills with all levels of the healthcare team and assures delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers.
• Possesses proficient computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems and standard Rehabilitation equipment.
• High attention to detail in fast paced and dynamic environment.
• Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of productivity.

Qualifications:

• Education - Masters
• Experience - Less than 1 Year of Experience
• Certification/License/Registration - Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
