Working under the direction of a physician, you'll perform diagnostic evaluations, administer therapeutic treatments, and play a vital role in improving patient outcomes.What You'll DoAs a Respiratory Therapist, you will:Perform comprehensive cardiopulmonary assessments and diagnostic testingEvaluate, diagnose, and treat adult and pediatric patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disordersAdminister respiratory therapies, including: Medical gas therapyAerosol and humidity therapyAirway clearance techniquesArtificial airway managementInvasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilationVascular catheter insertion, management, and careExtracorporeal Life Support (ECLS)Perform pulmonary function testing, blood gas analysis, sleep studies, and other diagnostic proceduresAssess patient response to therapy and adjust treatment plans within established protocolsCollaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop individualized care plansParticipate in disease management for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditionsSupport hemodynamic monitoring and patient stabilizationAssist with discharge planning and patient educationRespond to Rapid Response and Code Blue events, providing advanced respiratory supportMaintain respiratory therapy equipment and ensure compliance with quality, safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standardsWhy Baystate Health?At Baystate Health, we're committed to supporting our employees both professionally and personally. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience.
