Job Description
The Lake County Treasurer's Office is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Deputy Treasurer to join our team. You will serve the public and support the collection, processing, and accounting of county property tax payments and other county funds.
Responsibilities
Accept and process property tax payments in person, by mail, and online
Balance daily cash drawers and prepare deposits accurately
Answer questions from taxpayers, title companies, and attorneys by phone, email, and in person
Maintain accurate records and reconcile accounts
Assist with delinquent tax notices, payment plans, and related correspondence
Support the Treasurer and staff with special projects and seasonal tax collection periods
Follow all applicable Ohio Revised Code requirements and county policies
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or business is a plus)
Cash handling, customer service, or bookkeeping experience preferred
Strong math skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office software
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with the public
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Pay and Benefits
$17.00 – $22.00 per hour, depending on experience
