Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Summary:

The Circulating Nurse in the CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) provides specialized perioperative care to cardiac surgery patients. This role involves coordinating surgical procedures and ensuring patient safety throughout the operation.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and support cardiovascular surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies for cardiac procedures.
• Monitor patient status and assist anesthesia providers during surgery.
• Maintain sterile techniques and ensure proper handling of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Document intraoperative activities, patient response, and surgical details accurately.
• Collaborate with surgical team members to facilitate smooth operation flow and patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current, unencumbered Oregon RN license.
• Possess Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification.
• Obtain AHA ACLS certification.
• Have at least one year of experience as a Circulating Nurse in the OR specializing in CVOR or completed approved pre-operative nursing coursework.
• Bring two or more years of experience in ICU/PCU or medical/surgical acute care settings.
• Demonstrate one year of CVOR or Open Heart surgery experience.
• Possess scrubbing experience in cardiac surgeries preferred.
• ICU experience and prior scrubbing in cardiac procedures are highly preferred.
