The successful candidate will teach mathematics within an innovative college-preparatory and career-readiness environment.The ideal candidate will embrace a student-centered approach, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and use innovative, inquiry-based instructional strategies to support student achievement.### Essential Responsibilities* Embrace Saint Martin's Mission, Vision, and Guiding Principles, as well as the Cristo Rey Network Standards of Mission Effectiveness.* Use a student-centered approach to education.* Participate in professional learning teams that promote collaboration, peer review, and multidisciplinary lesson planning.* Develop lesson plans in accordance with the school's innovative curriculum.* Submit lesson plans weekly and unit plans quarterly.* Model a work ethic characterized by diligence, persistence, and dedication.* Remain flexible as the school continues to develop innovative educational policies, programs, and curriculum.* Use formal and informal assessments to adjust instruction, support student learning, and track student progress.* Support and uphold the school's mission and beliefs concerning student learning.* Coordinate field trips for curricular and extracurricular activities.* Communicate effectively with parents and guardians.* Participate in Corporate Work Study Program and Admissions events as assigned.* Contribute to the development of teaching policies, procedures, and methodologies.### Education Requirements* Master's degree preferred; candidates with a Bachelor's degree and appropriate experience will also be considered.* Ohio licensure in **Mathematics and Integrated Mathematics (9–12)** preferred.* Inquiry-minded approach to teaching and learning.* Awareness of 21st-century skills and contemporary approaches to mathematics education.### Experience* **Three or more years of teaching experience in an urban environment preferred.**### Required Skills & Traits* Ability to effectively use school technology, including academic software and Microsoft Office.* Strong oral and written communication skills.* Outgoing and engaging personality.* Strong organizational skills.* Outcomes-driven approach.* Self-initiating and proactive work style.* Strong attention to detail.* Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.### Educational Philosophy & Mission AlignmentCandidates should:* Understand and fully embrace the Saint Martin de Porres High School mission and the Cristo Rey Network's Ten Standards for Mission Effectiveness.* Support Saint Martin's Five Pillars: **Work, Study, Serve, Lead, and Pray**.* Believe that learning should be placed in meaningful contexts and connected to real-world experiences.* Utilize active and innovative pedagogical approaches, including: + Habits of Mind + Socratic questioning + Adult and peer coaching + Adult and peer presentations + Problem-based learning + Constructionist approaches + Inquiry methods + Appreciative inquiry* Be a person of faith, though Catholic faith is not required.* Appreciate the school's Catholic identity and its emphasis on high ethical, moral, and social standards for students, staff, and volunteers.* Demonstrate a willingness to contribute beyond the narrow boundaries of a job description when needed to support the school community.* Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork.### About Saint Martin de Porres High SchoolSaint Martin de Porres High School is part of the **Cristo Rey Network** of Catholic schools designed specifically to serve students of modest means.The school's distinctive **Corporate Work Study Program** allows students to gain real-world work experience while receiving a college-preparatory education.
