Lab Technician - 2nd Shift

Job Description BioLife Testing Laboratories’ mission is to ensure the highest quality testing standards for the plasma we collect. The plasma our centers collect becomes life‑changing medicines for patients in need. The role focuses on sample management, test performance, quality control, result reporting, and equipment maintenance to support patient‑centered care. Key Responsibilities Perform only high and moderate complex tests for which certification has been authorized by the laboratory director or designee. Manage samples, perform tests, conduct quality control, review and report results in a timely manner. Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, test analyses, reporting and record‑keeping. Document all quality control activities, instrument calibrations, maintenance, and corrective actions. Identify, correct or report problems affecting test performance or result reporting. Participate in operational excellence initiatives such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a biomedical discipline (Chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Lab Science or Medical Technology) or an associate’s degree in laboratory science/medical laboratory technology. 1‑year laboratory training or work experience. Ability to read and follow SOPs and maintain accurate records. Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical/problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with personal computers and applicable software. Leadership, integrity, fairness, honesty, perseverance. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or an associate’s degree in medical laboratory technology. MT or MLT certification from ASCP or another accredited organization. Physical Requirements Stand 6–8 hours; lift, carry, or pull up to 25 pounds. Wearing gloves 90% of tasks; potential exposure to blood‑borne pathogens. Compensation & Benefits Hourly wage range: $18.80 – $29.56.
