Field Service Technician

Our client is one of Hampton Roads leading LED Lighting and Controls Solutions agency and is in search of a veteran candidate who possess a strong technical background specifically with an electrical/electronics (low voltage) focus who wants to invest in a new career as a FST for their new Controls division this team has all the tools to train and help mold you into the ideal FST candidate but you will need to bring low voltage electrical troubleshooting, IT/Computer networking knowledge, a desire to win, and the maturity to put in the work to grow into this role as it will come with a wealth of knowledge from the C-Suite!

Field Services Technicians (FST) work in conjunction with internal team members, wholesale distributors, contractors, designers, owners/owner representatives and manufacturers to install, program/commission and support lighting controls or lighting equipment.

The FST is required to represent the company professionally while performing on-site commissioning functions in a safe, responsible way. The FST will properly document/communicate all field-related information while following all business processes required for execution of commissioning services or project turnover. The FST stays current with educational opportunities and requirements that effectively support project needs and manufacture/product knowledge.

The Field Service Technician (FST) will be responsible for performing functions including, but not limited to, the following:

? Successfully program or troubleshoot lighting and lighting controls systems.

? Review controls drawings/schematics and project documentation to successfully commission controls systems.

? Independently commission and troubleshoot systems that you have received training on.

? Meet deadlines and project commitments while strictly adhering to stated processes.

? Properly complete field reports and communicate details relevant to project stakeholders.

? Manage customer expectations to fit within the identified project scope.

? Meet with project field representatives to review project information and clarify drawings or areas of concern.

? Provide installation information, best practices, training and on-site assistance.

? Participate in continued training on all business tools or knowledge necessary to providing field service functions relative to identified manufacturers.

? Follow all site safety requirements and work in a safe, professional manner.

? Maintain company equipment and tools and utilize them responsibly.

? Work closely with all business elements to ensure our process is effective.

? Represent yourself and the company in a professional manner, including exhibiting your best performance in the field and using strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
