Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Step-Down RN – Georgia

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Athens, Georgia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 hours per week; every other weekend required; patient ratio 1:3-4

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit with 32-bed capacity and average daily census of 21 patients
• Diverse case mix including post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgeries, cardiac arrhythmias, respiratory failure, DKA, GI bleed, trauma, CVA, seizures, sepsis, and neurological disorders
• Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and lift teams
• Equipment experience includes AirVo, BiPap, CPAP, and telemetry monitoring
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of nursing experience

Requirements:

• Active Georgia or Compact State RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in progressive care, step-down, intermediate care, or telemetry setting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated competency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Telemetry competency exam required upon hire
• Experience with adult to geriatric patient populations
• Willingness to float within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Full compliance documentation due by Tuesday prior to start date
