Serves as principal assistant to the Fire Chief in the management of the City’s Fire Department; does related work as required. Acceptable Experience and Training Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate Degree in Fire Science or a closely related field, Bachelor's degree preferred, and Firefighter II, EMT; Seven years of responsible experience to include command, supervisory, management, and training experience; Or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. Required Special Qualifications Completion of initial and continuing fire training and educational requirements as established by the City; Knowledge of Fire Code Inspection Practices preferred. Possession of a Fire Service Instructor I Certificate. Will be certified as Instructor II within two years of appointment.
