Job Definition Pipe Layers are responsible for installing pipe in storm sewers, gas utilities, and water mains. Laborers must have physical strength, endurance and must also be able to concentrate on their tasks. They assist the Foreman and skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties under close supervision. Typical Duties Digging, spreading and leveling dirt, sand and gravel using a pick shovel or rake Installing, removing, and maintaining a variety of erosion control products and liners.
