Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant at our surgical center, you will work within an energetic and collaborative team environment. The work setting emphasizes hands-on patient interaction in our modern facilities. Our staff operates in a fast-paced emergency medicine framework, where you will coordinate directly with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver timely and effective treatment. You can expect to work Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM, equating to approximately 40 hours of valuable work experience each week.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to trauma alerts, conducting initial assessments of patients who present with acute injuries and conditions.
• Stabilize patients using advanced medical protocols to prevent deterioration of their conditions while ensuring efficient transfer to other medical personnel as needed.
• Engage in resuscitation efforts, applying life-saving interventions in emergency situations.
• Collaborate with trauma team members and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for trauma patients.
• Perform physical examinations, order and evaluate diagnostic tests, and administer medications as authorized by supervising physicians.
• Assist with essential procedures, including invasive interventions, wound management, and emergency treatments.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma care processes, expected outcomes, and post-treatment recovery.
• Monitor patients' pain levels and manage discomfort with appropriate interventions.
• Adhere rigorously to infection control standards, safety protocols, and hospital policies during all aspects of care delivery.

The patients in our surgical center range from individuals suffering from traumatic injuries to those requiring immediate medical attention for severe illnesses. You will encounter diverse cases that require prompt assessment and intervention, which not only tests your clinical skills but also enhances your ability to provide compassionate care. Your role is vital in ensuring that each patient receives personalized treatment that meets their specific health needs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, completed by an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• A minimum of 2 years of prior experience in emergency medicine or trauma care, demonstrating effective clinical assessment and treatment skills.
• Strong understanding of trauma stabilization protocols and procedures.
• Proficient in diagnostic interpretation and patient care documentation.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency setting, showcasing excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Dedication to continuous professional development in emergency medicine practices and trauma care methodologies.
• Physical fitness adequate to handle the physical demands associated with patient care and transfers during emergency situations.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
