Senior Technical Program Manager, Database Services

Job Description:Our OpportunityChewy is seeking a SeniorTechnical Program Manager, Database Services to lead high-impact, cross-functional programs across the whole Chewy ecosystem in Boston, MA.You will own delivery across critical customer journeys and foundational platforms, including data in DynamoDB, PostgresSQL, Qdrant, SQL Server and Snowflake. These programs sit at the intersection of customer experience, all customers workflows, and scalable platform architecture.In this role, you will partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Platform teams to deliver complex, multi-quarter initiatives that directly impact customer experience, operational efficiency, and business growth.As a TPM, you will operate at the intersection of technology, product, and execution. You’ll own end-to-end delivery across distributed systems and influence how we scale Data at Chewy.What You’ll DoOwn and drive end-to-end delivery of complex technical programs across Chewy’s Data technology stack, from concept through launch and post-launch optimizationTranslate business objectives into clear technical requirements, milestones, and execution plansNavigate complex system dependencies across backend services and platform infrastructureIdentify risks, tradeoffs, and bottlenecks early; drive mitigation strategies and escalate effectively when neededPartner with engineering teams in architecture and design discussions to understand system tradeoffs and inform execution plansEstablish and drive operational rigor through program reviews, metrics, status reporting, and retrospectivesDrive clear communication and alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadershipOwn and drive sound Data Governance across Chewy in partnership with other disciplines.What You’ll Need5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or similar role delivering large-scale, cross-functional technical initiatives.Proven experience leading multi-team, multi-system programs in a fast-paced, high-growth environmentStrong technical fluency with distributed Data systems, reporting technologies such as Snowflake and Tableau, data pipelines, and cloud-based architecturesAbility to engage in architecture discussions, understand system tradeoffs, and influence technical decision-makingExperience managing complex dependencies across engineering, product, data, and business stakeholdersStrong communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences, including executivesHighly organized, execution-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and bias toward actionBonusExperience building or scaling customer-facing Data products in eCommerce or marketplace environmentsExperience in agentic systemsExperience working on systems that span both customer-facing experiences and internal platformsThe base salary range for this role is $129,500 - $207,000.00.The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.
