Job Description Position Description: HR Generalist Auburn Hills, MI Company Overview: DESTACO, a Stabilus Company, is a global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance automation, workholding, and remote handling solutions. The company serves customers in a variety of end markets, including automotive, life sciences, consumer goods, packaging, aerospace, and nuclear sectors. Position Summary: The HR Generalist is responsible for providing Human Resources Support for DESTACO’s Americas staff in Auburn Hills, MI and the Remote Handling plant in Red Wing, MN. The HR Generalist will also manage Health and Wellness programs and administer benefits for all U.S. locations, and may engage in special projects across the U.S. The role reports to the Director, HR Americas and requires 25% travel during peak seasons, and communication across various levels and functions of the organization. Key Job Responsibilities Provide HR support to all functional areas within the Americas Auburn Hills, MI facility and Remote Handling business in Red Wing, MN including recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, employee engagement, and compliance with government policies and regulations. Partner with the HR Director for Americas to continuously improve HR processes in talent management, acquisition, assessment, and performance management. Provide coaching and guidance to management for handling employee relations issues effectively and consistently. Leverage continuous improvement tools to drive operational improvements and ensure engagement through strong communication and clear direction. Promote safety awareness with the plant team, champion accident prevention and employee involvement in a safe work environment, and ensure employees understand safety expectations. Administer benefits programs online including health, dental, vision, life insurance, pension plans, vacation, disability, FMLA, workers’ compensation, and employee assistance program. Process payroll data through ADP, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and deductions of benefits. Audit monthly billings from insurance providers and other systems. Partner with finance to process all invoices for U.S. benefits. Act as wellness champion to coordinate programs and activities at all U.S. locations, including annual enrollment, flu shots, biometrics, and other wellness programs. Create and distribute communications to employees regarding company benefits, the wellness plan, 401(k) education, and health-related topics. Assist employees and HR team with questions and problems pertaining to benefit plans. Coordinate open enrollment activities, including creating communications and presentations, ordering printed materials, meetings, and testing the online benefit enrollment system. Administer workers compensation and all related documentation and coordination with insurance carrier. Job Requirements Experience Three to five (3-5) years of generalist human resources experience. Minimum of two (2) years of experience administering benefits plans. Knowledge of HR-related employee law and regulations, including Title VII, EEO, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, NLRA, OSHA/Worker Compensation, COBRA, HIPAA, WARN, etc. Experience with non-union high-performance work teams desired. Experience with employee relations. Experience with Microsoft Office and HRIS. Strong Microsoft Excel experience desired. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels of the organization. Excellent communication skills, including facilitation, verbal, and written. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Strong organizational skills, keeping timelines and meeting deadlines. High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy. Strong business acumen. 25% travel required. Education and Certification Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources or a related field.
