Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Neuro Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day/Night Rotate Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience within a large, level 1 trauma hospital License: RN license (ND or compact state) Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: Min 2 years recent ICU experience within a 200+ bed, level 1 trauma hospital BLS - Must be AHA ACLS - Must be AHA NIHSS Epic experience Experience with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes Experience managing critically ill patients in a neuro ICU Experience titrating vasopressor drips Description: Management of 1-3 critically ill patients with varying patient populations including neuro, surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical patients. Primary focus will be on neuro patients, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. Ability to manage vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, antiarrhythmics, and other titratable drips. Assistance with bedside procedures including RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, line placement, and other diagnostic tests. Ability to care for critically ill patients independently. Nurse to patient ratio of 1 nurse to 2-3 patients. Floating to all critical care departments may be required. May be required to float to med surg units as needed. Total of 32 hours of orientation will be provided, including hospital orientation and unit-specific training. Clinicians must badge in and out. Scrub color is navy blue. Cancellation policy allows for client cancellations. Charting system is Epic. BSN is not required.
