Drive Occupancy. Lead the Community. Are you a high-performing Executive Director, Senior Living Administrator, or Assisted Living Operations Leader who knows how to build strong teams, drive occupancy, and deliver measurable results? Do you understand the connection between census growth, employee retention, resident satisfaction, and financial performance? Are you a leader who takes ownership, builds accountability, and thrives when there's an opportunity to grow a community? KindCare Naugatuck is looking for an experienced, sales-minded Executive Director to lead our growing senior living community in Naugatuck, Connecticut! This is an opportunity for a results-driven leader who wants to do more than manage daily operations. We're looking for someone who can develop a winning team culture, strengthen operational performance, partner closely with sales, and drive the community toward its full potential. As a newer senior living development, KindCare Naugatuck offers the opportunity to make a visible impact as occupancy increases and the community continues to establish itself in the market. If you're a confident, financially savvy, relationship-driven senior living leader who knows how to turn strategy into results, we'd love to meet you! Why This Opportunity Stands Out Growing Community • Regional Support • Leadership Ownership • Performance-Based Bonus KindCare Naugatuck is a newer development conveniently positioned near major highways, offering accessibility and an opportunity to establish a strong presence in the surrounding market. You'll join a growing region with a motivated community team and leadership partners who are committed to success. As Executive Director, you'll have the opportunity to: Build a strong, accountable, high-performing leadership team. Shape the community's culture as it continues to grow. Take ownership of occupancy growth and operational performance. Partner with sales to strengthen lead conversion, move-ins, and market visibility. Develop strategies that improve resident satisfaction and associate retention. Drive financial performance through thoughtful budgeting and expense management. Establish strong relationships with residents, families, referral partners, and the surrounding community. Work alongside an engaged regional leadership team. Make a measurable impact on the community's long-term success. This is an opportunity to lead a growing community and help establish it as a top choice for senior living in the Naugatuck market. The Three Things We're Looking For1. A Proven Team & Culture Builder You know that strong community performance starts with strong people. You have experience developing department leaders, establishing expectations, coaching employees, and creating a culture of accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered service. You don't simply manage employees—you develop leaders and build teams that want to succeed. You can: Recruit, develop, and retain strong department leaders. Establish clear performance expectations. Address performance concerns directly and professionally. Build trust and accountability across departments. Improve associate engagement and retention. Create a culture where employees take ownership of results.2. Strong Financial Acumen & Operational Accountability You understand the business side of senior living and know how to manage a community with financial discipline. You're comfortable reviewing financial reports, managing budgets, controlling expenses, and making operational decisions that support long-term success. You understand how occupancy, staffing, labor costs, resident care, and service quality influence overall financial performance. You can: Manage operating budgets and financial performance. Monitor revenue, labor, and operating expenses. Evaluate financial trends and identify improvement opportunities. Hold department leaders accountable for budget performance. Balance operational efficiency with resident care and satisfaction. Develop and execute action plans to improve community results.3. A Sales-Oriented Leader Who Drives Occupancy You understand that sales is not just the responsibility of the Sales & Marketing Director. You are actively involved in driving occupancy, supporting tours, building referral relationships, and creating a culture where every department contributes to the resident experience and community growth. You know how to: Partner with sales leadership to achieve occupancy goals. Monitor leads, tours, deposits, move-ins, and conversion performance. Build relationships with referral partners and local organizations. Support sales events and community outreach. Identify barriers to move-ins and implement solutions. Create a strong first impression for prospective residents and families. Build a community culture that supports both resident retention and new business. We're looking for an Executive Director who understands that census growth, team performance, and financial success go hand in hand. What You'll Be Responsible For Executive Leadership & Community Operations Provide overall leadership and direction for daily community operations. Lead and develop department directors and community associates. Establish operational priorities, performance expectations, and accountability. Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality resident services and hospitality. Maintain strong communication across all departments. Oversee staffing, service delivery, safety, and operational readiness. Ensure compliance with applicable Connecticut regulations and company policies. Support resident and family satisfaction through visible, engaged leadership. Partner with regional leadership to execute community goals and improvement initiatives. Sales, Marketing & Occupancy Growth Take an active leadership role in occupancy growth and resident retention. Partner closely with the Sales & Marketing team to achieve census goals. Review sales activity, lead pipelines, conversion rates, and move-in performance. Participate in prospect engagement, tours, and relationship development as appropriate. Build and maintain relationships with local referral sources and community partners. Support marketing initiatives, outreach activities, and community events. Identify opportunities to strengthen the community's competitive position. Ensure the resident experience supports positive referrals and long-term occupancy. Financial Performance & Business Operations Oversee community financial performance, budgeting, and expense management. Monitor revenue, labor costs, operating expenses, and financial trends. Partner with department leaders to maintain financial accountability. Evaluate opportunities to improve operating performance and efficiency. Review financial reports and implement appropriate action plans. Balance occupancy growth and expense management with quality resident care. Take ownership of community performance and measurable business results. Team Development & Culture Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop department leaders. Build a collaborative and accountable leadership team. Establish a positive culture focused on resident satisfaction and service excellence. Promote associate engagement, recognition, and retention. Address performance concerns promptly and professionally. Develop succession plans and leadership growth opportunities. Encourage teamwork, ownership, and consistent communication. Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and accountability. Resident Experience & Regulatory Compliance Ensure residents receive exceptional service in a safe, welcoming environment. Build strong relationships with residents and families. Partner with clinical leadership to support quality care and resident well-being. Maintain compliance with applicable licensing, safety, and operational requirements. Oversee readiness for inspections and regulatory reviews. Ensure resident concerns are addressed promptly and professionally. Promote a community environment built on trust, dignity, hospitality, and meaningful relationships. Qualifications Required Previous senior living experience. Demonstrated leadership experience in senior living operations or community management. Strong team-building, coaching, and performance-management skills. Proven financial acumen, including budgeting, expense management, and operational accountability. Sales-oriented mindset with an understanding of occupancy growth and resident acquisition. Ability to lead department managers and establish clear expectations. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to build relationships with residents, families, associates, and referral partners. Understanding of senior living operations, resident care standards, and regulatory compliance. Ability to work collaboratively with regional leadership. Willingness to participate in the Manager-on-Duty rotation and respond to community needs while on call. Preferred Previous Executive Director, Community Executive Director, or Assisted Living Administrator experience. Demonstrated success increasing occupancy or improving community financial performance. Experience leading a newer or growing senior living community. Experience improving associate retention and leadership-team performance. Strong knowledge of the Connecticut senior living market.
