Yamhill County Health and Human has one full-time position for a Maternal Child Health Nurse. The nurse will work within one or more of Yamhill County Public Health's nurse home visit programs including Babies First!, CaCoon, and/or Family Connects Oregon to assess families and ensure they have what they need to create a safe and healthy environment during early childhood. In addition, the nurses will assess infant growth and development and ensure they have resources and referrals to ongoing care.

Must have an unencumbered Oregon license as a registered professional nurse at the time of appointment. The Candidate: As a successful candidate for this position, you should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be organized and detail oriented in your work, and have the ability to work effectively both alone as well as in a team environment. It is also expected that you will have excellent customer services skills as you will be expected to interact with co-workers and the public in a courteous, professional manner. As a multi-cultural county and workplace, it is required that you are able to interact and work with people of all backgrounds and life circumstances with respect and dignity.
In addition to your training and knowledge in Nursing, you will be expected to be proficient in computer use, including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Ability to secure and maintain a driver's license valid in the state of Oregon is required as you may be required to drive a County vehicle. Employees authorized to operate a private vehicle on County business are required to carry a valid driver's license and liability insurance minimums as outlined in ORS 806.070.

Health Coverage - Group medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage is available for the entire family. For the 2025-2026 plan year, the County will pay 97% of the monthly premium and employees will pay 3% ($70.18 per month) for the PPO Base Plan. With this plan, employees are eligible for a $125 a month contribution into an HRA VEBA account. Buy-up plans are also available. The employee premium for the HMO plan is $0.00, with the HMO plan employees are not eligible for the HRA Veba Account.
Retirement - PERS (Public Employee Retirement System) contribution is 100% employer funded, which includes both contribution to PERS pension and IAP accounts (IAP contribution is 6% of salary). Short-Term Disability - 100% County paid. Life insurance - $10,000 for employee/$2,000 for spouse and children - 100% County Paid. Vacation/Sick Leave - Flexible Earned Time (FET) is a combination of vacation and sick leave. To start, employees earn 13 hours per month and future accruals increase based on years of service. After a year of service and depending on FET balance, employees may sell-back up to 40 hours of FET per year.

The Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a public health nursing certificate
- An unencumbered RN license.
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a registered nurse.
