About the Opportunity

A well-established and growing public accounting firm in the Cleveland area is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant to join their team. Position Overview

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting a variety of accounting functions in a fast-paced public accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for multiple clients
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
Support payroll processing and related reporting
Communicate directly with clients to gather financial data and address inquiries
Assist with cleanup projects and process improvements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (public accounting experience is a plus)
Strong understanding of core accounting principles
Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar platforms preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills with a client-service mindset
