Job Title: Community Resource Center Attendant

Supervisor: Housing Program Manager

Class: Part-time (Hours and shifts vary, but will be less than 29 hours per week)

Starting wage: $12.00 per hour

The Community Resource Center Shelter Attendant will provide quality, respectful, courteous service to all guests in the shelter. An overview of responsibilities includes but is not limited to, maintaining a safe, clean environment, supporting, and assisting guests, and documenting safety and/or security concerns.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Complete sign in documentation and other record keeping for all shelter guests.

2. Log all guest attendance records for HMIS and program grant purposes.

3. Assist in the preparation and coordination of the meals for guests.

4. Assist in maintaining the safety and security of guests, and shelter property, and report concerns to supervisor on duty.

5. Assist guests with accessing on-site resources, such as clean laundry, linens, hygiene kits, etc.

6. Ensure compliance with the Community Resource Center Policy and Procedure Manual.

7. Document incidents accurately, timely and notifying supervisor on duty.

8. Maintain the cleanliness of the shelter by performing tasks outlined on the daily checklists.

9. Greet all guests, visitors, and volunteers in a professional and courteous manner.

10. Sort and organize all supplies and donations.

11. Provide appropriate referrals to substance-use, mental health, and health care treatment.

12. Make emergency calls to law enforcement and emergency medical personnel as needed.

13. Administer emergency CPR, first aid, and naloxone as needed (after training provided).

14. Maintain strict client confidentiality and professional boundaries.

15. Attend regularly scheduled meetings and trainings assigned by supervisor.

16. Staying alert and attentive to shelter guests and operations all hours of the shift.

17. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

2. Ability to work with diverse cultures and people of varied socioeconomic backgrounds.

3. Ability to prioritize tasks.

4. Ability to maintain calm demeanor in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.

Education/Experience:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)

2. One (1) yr. experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness. (preferred)

3. CPR/First Aid Certification, Crisis Intervention Training, Mental Health First Aid, and Naloxone Administration Training (preferred).

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

2. Must be able to stand for 4-8 hours at a time.

3. Passed pre-employment screenings.
