Registered Nurse (RN)Shift: 12 hours, 7 PM to 7 AMPatient Care: 16 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive care to patients experiencing a range of critical conditions, including but not limited to:Stroke and acute ischemic strokeIntracerebral hemorrhage (ICH)Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH)Subdural hematoma (SDH)Brain tumorsCerebral edema and increased intracranial pressure (ICP)HydrocephalusAcute respiratory failureSepsis and septic shockPneumonia and ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome)COPD exacerbation and asthma exacerbationAcute heart failure and pulmonary edemaAcute kidney injury (AKI)Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS)Gastrointestinal bleedingAcute liver failureSevere electrolyte abnormalitiesQualificationsValid BLS and ACLS certifications requiredTwo years of nursing experience in a critical care setting preferredAbility to read telemetry strips is necessaryExperience with titratable drips, including Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Phenylephrine, and DopamineAdditional InformationHolidays: One major holiday and one minor holiday per year.Major: Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day/Day afterMinor: Labor Day, Fourth of July, Memorial DayScrubs: Navy blue scrubs required.Weekend Expectations: Every other weekend.Floating Expectations: First to float to Medical-Surgical ICU (MSICU), Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU), and take care of overflow patients.Equipment: Familiarity with mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP) is necessary.Client Details City Alexandria State VA
